Jidai Festival is held in Kyoto. It has held every year since 1895. This year (on Oct. 22) is 104 times. 12,000 people came. It is a big festival.
I explain Jidai Festival outline. About 2,000 people wear old fashion of Japan. One group dress Heian Era's clothes. And walk the road about 4.5 kilometers. It is long parade! Many people watch. Other dress Edo Era's fashion. Another dress age of Meiji ishin's fashion. They describe the age's heros and heroines. Some perform Tokugawa Ieyasu and some is Murasaki Shikibu. People watching them with imagining the era. They are very spectacular!
I am interested in Japanese History, so I want to watch parade. How about going Kyoto and watch this festival?
